Experiences from internships

Loyco strongly believes in providing young talents with opportunities to develop and learn, and therefore focuses on internships. Through the internship program, candidated get practical experience and the opportunity to apply their knowledge from their studies in the workplace.

An internship at Loyco is based on practical execution and teamwork. We are divided into several departments, which create multiple programs for candidates to choose from. The program lasts for 6 months, allowing you to choose two categories and switch after 3 months. Typically, there will be 2 work days per week, with the closest manager providing support. This way, the candidate can get the most out of the program, in terms of both learning and experience.

  • Age: 23 years
  • Study: Economics and Administration, BI
  • Program: Marketing and Customer Success

Why did you choose to apply for an internship at Loyco?

I was interested in building on my bachelor's degree with practical experience, so the BI internship course was perfect for me. My choice of company ended up being Loyco partly due to recommendations from a friend who had been an intern here, and because both the company and the tasks seemed interesting. For me, it was important to find a workplace where I felt challenged, while at the same time it seemed exciting to be part of the journey of a young growing company.

What was the best experience of being an intern?

The best experience has to be the feeling of getting tasks that are actually meaningful. Before the program, it might be easy to think that it will often be about making coffee and meaningless "busywork", but this has proven to be far from the truth. At Loyco, you are met with tasks that you can often see the significance of and understand why they are done.

How are the programs arranged for you as an intern?

At Loyco, interns work closely with the management and they are good at seeing which tasks you excel at and prefer. As an intern, you therefore experience that the tasks are tailored to your abilities and desires, so that you get the right challenges.

How do you think your experiences from the internship can help you in the future?

I imagine that completing an internship will give me an advantage in future job applications. This is because I can show that I have completed study-relevant tasks, while an internship is an excellent opportunity to get more references.

Do you have any tips for future interns?

Be clear about which tasks you want more of, and never be afraid to raise objections and suggestions! This is always well received.

What was the best experience of being an intern?

Not only learning the theoretical aspects, but actually using what one learns in practice. I have had the opportunity to learn a lot and use the theory I have from my studies in relevant job tasks.

How are the programs designed for you as an intern?

I think the programs have been very well designed for us, and especially the fact that we get to try out two different departments. Because of this, I have learned a lot more through different job tasks and projects. We have had weekly meetings where I have received good guidance and answers to any questions that have arisen.

In order for our internships to get the best possible benefit from the program, we offer two categories, so that one can try different fields.

  1. Loyco Marketing: This category contains all of Loyco's marketing activities. Here you can try things like social media, SEO, analysis, websites, landing pages, inbound marketing, paid advertising, and much more. After three months in this category, you will have knowledge of how marketing is done in a SaaS and Fintech company, especially digital marketing. Marketing is a good fit for you if you are curious and want to learn a lot.

Here the candidate can work on newsletters, campaigns, digital customer journeys, loyalty strategies, graphic production, and SMS marketing. After three months here, you will have relevant industry experience from our three main customer categories; hotels, restaurants, and retail. You will have the opportunity to work with interesting and well-known brands and get a glimpse of what they do to improve their customer's experience.
